The comprehensive 6-semester program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge in the field of radiology. Throughout the course, students will gain expertise in the interpretation of radiographs, fluoroscopic examinations, and ultrasound studies. They will also learn to analyze basic CT and MRI scans, as well as explore advanced MRI techniques, including diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). Moreover, the program focuses on understanding the imaging pathways followed in clinical radiology and trains students in reporting straightforward cases and providing provisional reports for more complex findings. By the end of the program, graduates will be well-prepared to contribute to the medical field, making accurate diagnoses and offering compassionate patient care through the use of advanced medical imaging technologies.
A career in clinical radiology opens up various opportunities in the healthcare field. Graduates of the Master of Science in Clinical Radiology program at the University of Malta can explore diverse career paths. They may seek employment in hospitals, clinics, research institutions, or specialized imaging centers. Clinical radiologists play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating medical conditions by interpreting medical images such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasounds. Their expertise makes them valuable members of medical teams, contributing to improved patient outcomes and healthcare services.
